Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. . . We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ. - from www.usccb.org, the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults | en español
Families of students in the eighth grade or above, who have not received the sacrament of Confirmation and who have completed the previous year of Faith Formation last year, are automatically enrolled in Sacramental Preparation. A child must be in his or her second consecutive year of Catholic education or Faith Formation classes in order to be eligible for the sacrament of Confirmation. He or she must also attend Mass regularly.
An all day Confirmation retreat including reconciliation and family gathering at the 4:30 p.m. Mass and family pot luck dinner will take place before Confirmation.
