A Community of Faith
Wherever you are on your faith journey, we welcome you to join us!
We are a Roman Catholic community proclaiming the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ and invite everyone to join our family community in a loving and spiritual environment in which we may grow in service and knowledge of God.
Bishop Gregory Parkes has launched GulfCoastCatholic.org, a news website to help Catholics know, live and share the faith. You’ll find articles that inform and, hopefully, inspire. Plus, each article can be shared via social media with one click. GulfCoastCatholic.org will provide timely and relevant articles for staying up to date with Catholic life. We will also share stories about people who are Courageously Living the Gospel. Visit GulfCoastCatholic.org to check out the website and to sign up for our free, weekly email of top stories.

The Synod on Synodality
Pope Francis will invite bishops from across the world to Rome in October of 2023 for a Synod to discern ways to engage more people in the decision-making process that affects the whole Church. The theme is: “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission.”
Leading up to this gathering, local dioceses will be consulting with local Catholics and others to create a report to submit to their national bishops’ conference.
Pope Francis commenced this initiative the weekend of October 9-10, 2021, with an opening session and a Mass. Bishop Parkes, along with other bishops worldwide, offered an opening Mass on Sunday, October 17, at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle in St. Petersburg.
The Diocese of St. Petersburg Synod website can be accessed here.
